These days we don’t get much “good mail” arriving at our door. For the most part our mail consists of bills and advertising, neither are anything to get excited about. So it was really cool to hear the door bell ring with our mail carrier standing there with a package in hand with my name on it from my mother. What a nice surprise to have her order and have delivered a gourmet cheese cake from Cheesecake.com, and it’s the gourmet sampler! I love sampler’s, I am a firm believer that variety is the spice of life so being able to sample a variety of things just floats my boat.
So I was telling my sister about the surprise package, when she tells me that she had gotten a package from mother just yesterday herself. But instead of cheese cake it was a box of steaks, which she was thrilled with and her husband even did a little happy dance when it arrived. We’ve never known mother to send out free gourmet to us, but we could get used to it. I guess a phone call with a thank you is in order next. She is out of town for the weekend so I’ll be catching up with her next week and hear all about her trip as well.
