It was interesting to hear at the dinner table on Easter Sunday, that my 23 year old nephew is interested in becoming a Registered Tax Return Preparer. He has really straightened out his life these past couple of years and seems to be really considering taking the tax preparer exam and running with this job opportunity that none of us would have ever considered him taking an interest in. I rather thought that he would have preferred to do something a bit more blue collar, something that he works with his hands on. He has always been good with his hands, always wrenching on his car or on a friend’s or family member’s vehicle when called upon, so I could have sworn that he would have gotten into some type of mechanical field, not sitting at a computer behind a desk some where working with people and their tax issues.
I’m so glad that we have the type of family that will support him in any of the decisions that he makes and will be there to catch him if he falls and help him pick up the pieces, dust him off and get him back on track no matter what it takes. Not all families can claim that these days.
