After a long summer with very high gasoline prices it has now risen above $2.00 a gallon for regular gasoline. I hate to see the price of gasoline start back up, who knows how high it will go once it starts back up. Our small delivery company is having a very hard time making ends meet as it is and if gasoline goes back up where it was last summer I fear we will be seeing the end of all small business as we know it, and that would be a shame. For us and many others it would be disaster.

I did not think it would get under $1.00 a gallon and it did not, we made it down to $1.20 a gallon and I guess I should be happy with that. The cost of gasoline means a lot to our business bottom line and the lower it is the more money we make and thats what being in business is all about. I hope it does not go back to the high mark of this last summer it will kill my business as well as many others if it does get that high.

After the ice storms we have had over the last couple of weeks it is time to wash the salt and dirt off my truck, I hate to wash it in the wintertime because it is so cold but it really needs to be done. I will run it through the automatic car wash to get the salt off and then take the brush to it to get all of the crusted dirt and road grime off. My Tahoe is white so it shows every grain of dirt and seems to attract the road salt when they salt the rods for ice and snow. I know that I will feel better after I give my truck a bath, so I will make sure it gets done this weekend.

At some point in our lives each of us has lost something we needed or cherished, today I lost my keys and I never knew how lost I was without my keys, at every turn I needed a key and had to ask someone to get me that key and it was a pain in the you know where. I found them about 5 pm just as I was about to head home. Of course after I called my wife to bring me the spare keys, you never find what is missing until you do not need it any more. I am going to hang on to my keys because I have found out how much you miss them if they are not where they are supposed to be.

Today I pulled a stupid human trick, I had to get out of the house early to get some work done and back in time to get my computer work done and in my rush out the door I forgot to check and see how much gasoline was in the truck. To make a long boring story shorter I ran out of gasoline on the Interstate and Lace had to bring a gas can to save my big butt. I know to keep gas in the truck but I have not felt so very good the last few days and it just slipped my mind, goes to show that even smart people make mistakes.

We had to put the Tahoe in the shop this week to do some little annoying stuff that really was not worth a trip to the shop, but it needed to be fixed before it got worse and needed real attention. It seems that every time we get a little bit ahead we have a vehicle break down and have to take it to the shop. Every time we put something in the shop it costs about $800 to fix no matter what it is. This trip should be a lot less than that but you can never tell with auto shops. Let us hope this is the last trip to the shop for this year we are way over budget for auto repairs for this year.

Gasoline prices have finally dropped under $3.00 a gallon in this area. On gas buddy today I saw a station in Hendersonville was at $2.99 a gallon. I can not remember the last time gasoline was under 43.00 a gallon it has been a long time. It looks like it will take a few more days for the price to drop down that low in our area but it is very nice to see a light at the end of the high price tunnel for gasoline. That makes our business that much more profitable and keeps our expenses low enough that we can make a few bucks again.

With the problems that we have had getting gasoline the last couple of weeks no one has been worried about the price. Now that we are back in the gasoline business here in Nashville I have noticed that the price here is .20 more than the national average, not only are we having long lines and a lot of stations out of gasoline altogether now they are charging us more for what little bit of gasoline that we can get, it is ridiculous to put it in a nice way, I can think of some more harsher words to use to describe this gasoline situation.

Things are pretty much getting back to normal here in Nashville, no more long lines to buy gasoline, that is if you could find gasoline. Most of the stations in Nashville have been running short of fuel for almost two weeks now. Today when i was out running errand I noticed that most, not all but most of the gas stations here in town had gasoline and the most wonderful part, they had almost no lines of people waiting to fill up their vehicles. In the last two weeks the wait was over two hours in places and one station had the police checking gas gauges and if you had to much gasoline in your tank they turned you away. I had never heard of anything like that before. Well I am glad that things are getting back to normal in the gas department anyway.

As our business continues to grow we now have an urgent need to purchase a new delivery van to replace our old van that now has over two hundred thousand miles on it. Our big green van has been a work horse and now it is time to put him out to pasture. We have started looking for Unsecured Loans to get us a new van. Car loans are not something we look for every day and it is taking us a while to find the right car loan for our business. Personal loans are something we are much more familiar with and even more comfortable with. BestLeading Lenders.com is a web site that has some very useful information on auto loans and we will be using their services to generate our new car loan this year. They provided us with a very quick no hassle quote, the service was above and beyond what we expected, and we will tell all of our friends and family about this great service.

Today is my oldest grandsons birthday and I wanted to wish David a very happy birthday. We did some serious shopping to find the birthday gifts that we got for him. He loves Spiderman so we got him a Spiderman jacket to wear this fall it is not heavy enough for winter but will work perfect for fall and spring. He also loves movies about trucks so we got him season one of the Ice Road Truckers on DVD. That is one of the few shows that I stop what I am doing to watch every week. Now we are waiting for the third season next year. Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday David from PaPa and Reen.

We just got home from trying to fill the truck up with gasoline. The gas stations that have gasoline are charging an arm and a leg for the gasoline. The gas station closest to our house is now at $4.09 a gallon. It was $3.51 a gallon there yesterday, I know the hurricane is making some of this price jump but I blame a lot of it on plain old nasty ass greed. The gas stations know we have to have gasoline and they know that they can create a false shortage and charge what they want to for the fuel. I wish I could just stay home for a few days and let the hysteria calm down a little bit before I tried to buy gasoline again. But real life sometimes gets in the way of doing what we know is the right thing to do.

It sure looks like Hurricane Ike is going to make a direct impact on the South Texas coast and right into my pocketbook at the same time. Gasoline prices have went out of sight since it started to look like Huirricane Ike was going to hit near Houston Texas. Rumors started swirling around here yesterday that the price of gasoline was going to over $5.00 a gallon due to the hurricane. It has went up about .28 cents a gallon overnight but not the dramatic increase everyone was talking about yesterday. Let us hope that we do not see shortages and rapid increases in the price of gasoline, I am not sure our fragile economy could stand the increase.

I did some searching for her and found a great site that offers car loans for people with bad credit or even no credit. Basic Car Loans has a lot of different loans to offer to people with bad credit and it is a nice change from most of the loan companies, I was amazed at the amount of different kinds of loans available at Basic Car Loans. Check out their web site at http://www.basiccarloans.com to see if they have a car loan for you or someone you know who needs credit help.

My string of luck continues with my truck when one thing goes wrong enough things have to be wrong so the guys at the shop can charge me $800 that seems to be the magic total. every time I have to take a vehicle to the shop it costs me $800. I guess they need that much to make a payment or something. The one exception was when I took the truck in for an oil change and an air filter and that cost me almost $100, I have not been back to Firestone and I never will go back there.
