One of the many features that I really enjoy about the Internet, which I use it quite often, are the sites that assist consumers in comparing services, products, and prices of so very many things. Currently I’m looking at various web site hosting companies and I have found a really helpful site at webhostingrating.com, which has been helpful to me with this task. They offer complete, up-to-date information about so many of the major web hosting providers all neatly wrapped up in a nice user friendly online directory.

I am so seriously looking into the green web hosting providers and was surprised at how many of them are changing their ways in order to become more “green” since being “green” is such great demand these days. I think that this is truly a good thing and I most definitely take my hat off to all of these companies that are trying to keep up with today’s very important “green” movement.

There is so much more to going green than to recycle and purchasing recycled products. People and businesses are going “green” for many reasons and they are all good valid reasons and I’m glad to see more and more of us jumping on the band wagon. It’s all good people!

This weekend I was planning on taking a load of stuff to the local outside flea market that is still open since it hasn’t turned bitter cold yet. I have taken a good amount of time to gather up and sort a bunch of stuff, besides deciding on the price to ask and then tagging it all, and have the van loaded ready to go. So what really is upsetting is that the weatherman is telling us that there is a slight chance of rain coming our way. Not that I ever put any faith in what any weather person predicts, but it still makes me a bit uneasy.

I decided to go ahead and continue with my plans, but now I have to gather up some tarps to take along to protect everything in case it does rain. I’m afraid that I might only have those ugly blue tarps out back, I’d much prefer to have clear tarps so that people can still see what is on the tables and continue selling to the customers that still continue to shop even through rains. And I really don’t like the look of those blue tarps, never have, seen to many in the yards of trailer parks I guess.

Late night cruising on the Internet lands me in some of the most off the wall sites that I never would have thought to visit any other time. You know how it is, you start clicking here and there and next thing you know you are totally somewhere else and can’t even figure out how it all happened.

Such is the case tonight when I somehow landed on a Toronto Escorts agency site, which I have to say it a pretty nice looking Escorts in Toronto site, all things considered. We bought our turkey for Thanksgiving Day today and it is a huge beast, dang thing must weigh 25 pounds, maybe 30. It is the biggest turkey I have ever seen not on the hoof. (Yes, I know turkeys don’t have hooves!) We used to have some huge old turkeys on the farm when I was a child but we did not eat them, we always had one of the young turkeys for Thanksgiving, my Grand Mother said that they were tender and tasted better than the old ones. I love all the food and football coming in a matter of days and I can not wait to get this huge turkey into the oven on Thursday it will be terrific.

Have received a request for a rain chain for Christmas from my Aunt Peggy this year, who happens to be the greatest Aunt of all times in my book. She is my mother’s eldest sister and has always been like a second mother to me for as long as I can remember. She has always lived close by, while the majority of my relatives have moved out of state, some out of the country entirely, so I have had her in my close personal life since day one. I know that I can trust her and depend on her for anything and I would do anything in my power to help her in any way that I can so I’ve started looking around for these much anticipated rain chains that she has been talking about here recently.

I have found a company online that has these chains rain on their website that I have enjoyed looking at today, I had no idea that these rain chains were getting so popular and that there would be such a wide variety of them available. Now I have to try and decide which one to pick for her. You’d think it wouldn’t be a hard task since I know her so well, but I do struggle with making discussions such as this when it comes to something for some one other than my self.

This has been a horrible summer for Texas and the Western states. I have been reading about fires in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado ever since March. These states have been suffering a long drought and hundreds of wildfires all summer.

The best thing that could happen to Texas is for one of the hurricanes down in the Gulf of Mexico to come ashore and drench the entire state for 2 or 3 days. It is critical now. Over 5,000 people have been evacuated from the Austin area and a record number of homes have been burned – almost 500 homes in just the past 3 days. This is horrific and my heart goes out to the good people of Texas.

This is the big Labor Day weekend when everyone wants to have a last fun weekend outdoors. But unfortunately, the weather forecast is for cooler days and lots of rain. Today is not raining yet, but you can feel it in the air and you know that it is coming, sooner or later. Let’s hope we all get at least one good day out of the weekend to do things at the lake or the beach.

We are going to head out to the river and just let my daughter splash around in the shallow water by our favorite picnic spot. The river bottom is not too mucky and not too rocky at this particular spot. I cannot tell you where this special spot is – it is our family secret and we don’t want a lot of other people to come there and spoil it.

My friend Owen is trying to put together a weekend trip for just adults in October. He want to go to a lodge and make it a couples retreat. I’ve never done that before, but it sounds interesting. I might be willing to go if it doesn’t cost too much.

Seems to me there is a good assortment of camping gear in the garage somewhere. I used to have several tents,, a camp stove, sleeping bags, and some basic tools like a hatchet, saw and shovel that were full size but pack-able. I wonder if they are all still in good shape? f not, I think I will start shopping for summer clearance items and restock my gear with newer technology and maybe a few nice things like those very cool new combination tent lanterns and fan that run on batteries and hang from the tent pole or tent ceiling.

I was just re-reading some of my older posts and just came across one that I posted last summer when I was complaining about the heat and humidity!  Well, all I can say is what in the world was I thinking?  This winter we have had an unusual amount of snow, which has wreaked havoc on everyone’s lives around here!  Schools are being cancelled a lot – it seems that they are closed more often than they are open!

And I was talking with Joe who tells me that their rescue department is being kept busy responding to calls of people who are being injured because of the snow – heart attacks while shoveling, people falling off of their roofs, and even people who stuck their hands in their snow blower in an attempt to unclog the blades and lost a few fingers!  Can you even imagine looking through the snow for someone’s fingers?  Good grief!

Our yard has been invaded by red wasps, Crash was bitten and had a terrible reaction we had to take him to the vet and get him a shot of benadryl to counter act the sting. So we have declared war on the red wasp in our yard. Two cans of wasp spray and a bug zapper have been put into play, I do not know if it is going to work but we are fighting to get our yard back. The city announced last week that a mosquito with the west nile virus was found very close to us so all of them little blood suckers have to go too. So bugs, be afraid – be very afraid! We are coming after you!

Tonight we are throwing some thick steaks on the grill, it is a beautiful night to cook outside, if we can keep the bugs away long enough we might just eat outside too. One bad thing about cooking and eating outside are the bugs. I bough a bug zapper last year and it works pretty good but only controls a small area. The mosquitoes are pretty thick this time of year and some around here carry the West Nile Virus. Sure do not want that. Ok off to light the grill.

Today would be perfect to be on the lake in a sail boat. Only one problem we do not have a sail boat. I would love to have a nice sail boat but that would mean that I would need to learn to sail a boat and at my age I am not sure if I could even learn to do that! I mean as you get older it tends to be harder to learn some things! On a more serious note I would love to learn to sail a boat I think it would be a lot of fun and something that is on my bucket list.

Finally spring has us in her grips and I for one am a happy camper. It had been a tough and very long winter and it makes my day go by much faster and better for that matter when the weather is nice as it is now. The summer heat will be a burden but a welcome one compared to winters cold and wet. Now we can go fishing when the work day is over and spend some time at the lake.

The one down side to spring is the allergy season. Today my head feels like it is about to fall off. I have no idea what is causing it, but something is blooming and causing me quite a bit of grief. The ragweed is what causes me the most problems and that is in the fall of the year, I can hardly breathe when the ragweed is blowing around. I hope this does not last all spring, I can not breathe and I have run through a box of tissue in only one day from all the sneezing.

For a couple of days we had beautiful weather the birds were singing and tree started budding out, and then last night it dropped into the low teens and put a quick stop to all the thinking about spring that was roaming around in peoples minds the last couple of days. I knew we were due for another cold snap and I kept our plants inside even after it hit the high sixties for a couple of days. Now we can start putting out the plants and getting ready for spring I think that was the last gasp of winter. I hope I am right; I am ready for spring.
