Crash and the deer

Our dog Crash went to the bank with me today and he had a boat load of excitement, as we pulled into the bank he spotted a huge deer in the field behind the bank, and on our way home he got to bark at cows and sheep, quite a bit of excitement for a little dog who does not get out as much as he would like. If he got his way he would be able to run loose to bark and pester everything that he sees. But he has to stay either in the house or on a leash when he does get outside and you can tell he hates to be cooped up and he lets us know every chance he gets.

Snake

As we were walking the dogs today Diva jumped straight up in the air and freaked out, as I got closer I noticed that we have a six foot long snake in our yard, add this critter to the herd of critters we already have and our zoo is growing rapidly. In recent days we have had a fourth squirrel join the three we already had and the rabbits are thick we even see a deer once in a while. All of this and we live inside the city limits of Nashville, I wounder how many animals we would have if we lived out in the country.

Rabies

Rabies have reared their ugly face here in the Nashville area again this spring, there have been a rash of cases of Rabies in cats this year. Most years it is more in the wild animals, but this year it has been the cats who are coming down with the rabies. To learn the most about this horrible disease I have went to Pet Wave and their wonderful web site that has so much information on pets and the diseases that pets come down with. Check out their great web site at petwave.com to get all the information you need to take care of your pets. In our family our dogs are a part of the family and protecting them is a very high priority to us.

My Granny

Guest post by Jewel Cole

My grandmother is getting older but that doesn’t mean she’s slowing down. You won’t believe it but she’s even got her own blog at 87 years old! I got her exedesatelliteinternet.net internet last year and she’s been loving it, so much so that she started a granny blog, as she calls it, to keep the family up to date with her adventures. She’s constantly travelling with her friends or going to bridge nights and she even adopted a cat last year so that’s keeping her mighty busy with vets and all that. I hope one day when I’m her age I can hope to be even a tiny bit as active as she is – between pool aerobics and biking and even singing in the church choir I just don’t know how she has time for it all! I love her to death and I‘m happy to say that my grandma is still my inspiration.

Three Weeks In England

Speaking of the up and coming Olympics, I just got word that our wonderful neighbors, the Dunns, have found some great London Apartments to rent while they are over in England for their 3 week vacation that they have both earned for all of their hard work last year at the factory that they both work at. These are good people that I am so thrilled to have as neighbors. I’ve never had a “good neighbor” before, I’ve always seemed to be stuck with the rough, rude and raunchy ones every where I’ve lived, so they are a true blessing.

Anyway they have relatives over in the U.K. but they didn’t want to impose on any of them for a place to stay during their time over there, so the search has been on for them looking for the perfect London Apartments for them to stay in. Of course the Internet has been a tremendous help, but folks have been reserving places for this exciting event so it does take a bit of time and patience at this point to get just what you want for the price you want. So I’m glad that they have finally found what they have been looking for and move on with all of the other arrangements that are going to be taken care of.

I’ve promised to watch their house and property, feed their outdoor cats, bring in their mail and the newspaper, all the neighborly stuff that folks do for each other, when they can get along that is.
