How does it seem that we always hear about movie stars and athletes that carry guns to the airport and get caught. How does someone with normal intelligence not remember that they happened to have a gun in the one bag they choose to carry on the airplane. The list of people who had this stupid moment in their lives is huge. John Smith of Nowhere USA does not try to carry a gun on the plane why do the celebrities think they get a pass on this law.

Texas Bound
Been spending some of my extra time (and there isn’t a whole lot of that to go around these days) online with a buddy who is considering relocating to the big state of Texas. Now this guy isn’t the most computer literate person in the world, so I help him out when and if I can. He is highly qualified in the cleaning and restoration business, with years of experience in this field. His wife’s family lives in the Austin area and they are needed down there to help out with aging parents issues in a very quarreling and totally dysfunctional extended family. No one has a lot of money to throw around to help them with all that goes along with up and moving, thank goodness they don’t have any children that can throw many other issues into the whole mess.
I have spent the evening utilizing Google with phrases like “fire odor removal austin” and “fire damage services austin” and just for grins and giggles I even tried “fish odor removal austin” to see what is going on in that line of business down there and got some names and numbers for him to follow up on. I really like what I saw at http://www.thesteamteam.com/. I’ve sent a few emails out and am using my email to respond to if needed. Hopefully we will get through this and get them up and running as soon as possible. These are good people and I hate to see them leave the area.
Christmas In New York City
This Christmas I have been invited to fly up to New York City to spend the holidays with an old high school friend who I haven’t seen in so very long. She moved up there to the big city shortly after high school and we have been keeping in touch via emails, texting and now there is Facebook that we have been enjoying as of late.
She has never married and has a great social life spending a good amount of time at the Gay bars and the Coffee Shops that are so abundant in New York City, especially in her neighborhood. She works at one of the high end Hotels and has met a lot of people from all walks of life and has made a lot of contacts along the way, which she can’t wait for me to meet and get to know on my trip up there.
Besides seeing a good friend, it will be nice to spend Christmas at one of the finer Restaurants that she is always bragging about eating at, without me having to spend the day cooking here for the whole family, which is something that I always end up doing year after year after year after year…….
Celebrating Veteran’s Day
On the way into town on Friday, 11-11-11, I just had too stop and say thank you, take a picture, and shake the hand of this dedicated Veteran who does this every Veteran’s Day from dusk until dawn. Something I will never, ever forget and hope that he continues to do this for years to come. God Bless America and least I forget to say “Welcome Home” to all the Vietnam Vets that were never told those two simple words!

Hair cuts
We took our grandson David to get his hair cut and while we were there we decided to get our hair cut too. It was raining so hard it was horrible, the lightning was very scary too. We noticed a couple of trees on the way home that had been struck by lighting and I was very glad that we were inside during the worst of the storm I have a very healthy fear of lighting and the damage it can do a good friend of ours was killed while standing on his porch smoking and it was not even raining at the time of that storm.
