Got it at home

I appreciate the guest post, Kenneth Jefferson

I got a new satellite tv provider madisonwhen I moved here and thank goodness, is all I can say. I don’t know what in the world I would have done without my TV the last few months but you know, I’m just glad I’ve had some relief from how horribly boring it is here. Can you imagine being 28 years old and having to move to such a tiny town for a great job at a terribly small company? I’m still not sure if I made the right decision but I think I did – there’s something to be said for getting your productivity ducks in a row while you’re young and that’s what I’m trying to do now. I spend more time than I should watching TV and playing with the dog but you know, I guess it’s all about whatever gets you through the tough times. There’s something to be said for putting in your dues and that’s what I hope I’m doing right now – I don’t want to have to do this again!

Ice Road Truckers

I have discovered a show that I love to watch, The Ice Road Truckers comes on the History Channel and I love it we caught the marathon for last years shows before the new season started and we are hooked. It is a great show with enough color to keep my interest for an hour. The characters are very feisty and rough it makes for a really fun show to watch, it is the only show that we set in stone to watch. I am going to order the first season and watch all of it again while I am watching the second season.

Candy Gone

Jimmy Kimmel did a montage of home videos where the parents of little kids were falsely told by their parents that there was no more Halloween candy left. Some of the parents said that the parents ate it while the kids were asleep. The reactions were predictable – the kids threw themselves into the floor in despair, crying out.

The audience laughed hysterically throughout the segment. I don’t think that was funny and I don’t think it was OK for the parents to lie to their kids, deliberately provoking or distressing them. Why is that funny?

Leno or Letterman?

If the TV is still on after the late night news, do you watch Jay Leno on NBC? Or do you watch David Letterman on CBS?

I have never been a fan of Jay Leno. I really miss the Johnny Carson show, R.I.P. Johnny and Ed. I don’t like Jay – I think he is weird and reminds me of a used car salesman.

Letterman is a womanizer and sleazeball, too. But he is funny and usually does a decent job interviewing the guests and getting them to reveal a little about themselves.

But if I want to watch a really good interview, I have turned to CNN and the Piers Morgan show. Piers is a much better interviewer and there are no distractions with a band and audience. He is really good at allowing the celebrities to reveal little nuggets of information about themselves, in a non theatening, pleasant way.

Have You Wached Gunny?

Gunny

Cruising tte cable channels and I came up with a how starring his guy, Gunny. He has a show all about guns. He tells you about the gun, who designed and why, and ten he takes everyone out to a shooting range and shoots the gun at targets. It is a pretty cool show and I want to make sure I watch some more of them.
