History in a set

We bought a real nice boxed set of DVD’s all of historical movies for our grandson David to enjoy when he comes over to our house. The great set includes, Portraits of American Presidents on 3 DVD’s and 2 disc about the 20th century and one about the American Indians, overall a great set for a youngster to learn from. I think that even some one who is almost over the hill like me can learn from this nice boxed set. I think I will start watching it tonight, I have the night off and I know I will be a few hours before I can get to sleep so a good movie will be just what the doctor ordered, to put me right to sleep.

Lipton Tea, The Only Tea For Me

I’ve always been a tea drinker, hot or cold, anytime, anywhere.  My father’s family came from England and tea was always a big thing, our Daddy really enjoyed his hot tea with a splash of evaporated milk!

Over the years I became very fond of Lipton Tea Bags and would only purchase and/or use Lipton, nothing else had the same taste, but I did cut out the evaporated milk tradition.

A close friend collects the Wade figurines that come in the package of Red Rose Tea Bags, so I switched brands in order to help fill out her collection and I look for the figurines when ever I am at a Flea Market or Yard Sale.  You would be surprised how many Wades there are out there, some go for a good amount of $$$.

Anyway, my taste buds have gone wacky on me over the past few years, nothing tastes right and I’m very discouraged because I miss enjoying the taste of foods, so I decided to go back to Lipton and I’m glad that I did because boy it really does taste good.

Gold Coins For Nephew’s Birthday Present

Got an email from my pre-teen nephew who will be turning 13 on March 3rd, which is coming up quickly. Hard to believe that the little squirt will be a full blown teenager, he was such a good little man, but nothing good lasts forever, right. Anyway he was urged to send out emails to the family members that will be attending his birthday celebration dinner that evening, giving us some much needed gift suggestions that he can come up with.

It seems that he is interested in furthering his coin collection that he was so crazy about back when he was much younger and that he has been neglecting for the past several years. But he has now realized how much fun it is and how valuable his collection could be some day so he is asking for various gold coins that he researched and listed in the email in order to help rekindle his enthusiasm of collecting coins.

I’m all for that idea and finding collectable coins is pretty easy these days with the use and ease of the Internet. And they are certainly affordable, at least for now.
