Knee Walkers and Scooters

With as many disabled people in this town that I see around I am surprised I haven”t seen the type of walkers that you can find at www.andrewstreet.com, specifically the knee walkers. What a wonderful concept for folks that find themselves in need of something designed specifically for their needs and wants that other walkers and scooters just weren’t cutting the mustard, so to speak.

During the holiday rush when we spend time at the mall is when I tend to notice how many people are out and about that are disabled and need some time of assistance with their walking and getting around. Going into Walmart is another reality check, when you see how messed up people really are, all crippled up and obesity running rampent all over that retail store, but that is a whole other issue for another time.

Look at this nice piece of equipment here…

It even has a nice little basket.

Gaines Unique Address Plaques

I’ve been noticing that there are now a lot of nice personalized address plaques being used on a lot more residences these days. I’ve been urged by my best buddy to get a new mailbox as well as one of theĀ custom address plaques that are out on today’s market, since we live out in the boonies and this old mailbox has seen better days. It seems that it would make it easier for the emergency personnel to find the place if needed, the Chinese food and pizza delivery person would benefit from it as well, so that’s a good deal.

Since I’ve been looking around at address signs a bit while online I’ve really been noticing the address signs that are being used by many of my neighbors and the folks all around town as well. It’s surprising to see as many of theĀ gaines address plaques that I’ve recently seen on the Internet. I reckon I didn’t pay that much attention to what people were using until I started looking for one.

A Better Way Indeed

The condition of the Cluster Mailboxes that are designated for my daughter and her husband to use as their Apartment Mailboxes are just outrageous and I’m getting tired of having to nag my daughter to do something about the situation. I just can’t seem to get it through their head that they are now prime targets for identity theft since these Cluster Mailboxes are falling apart and are no locking properly, which allows anyone who cares to, to take their mail and do what they will with it and that is just not cool.

It really bothers me that their landlord allows such things to just ride. And since they are now done with their one year lease and am currently on a month to month lease they are afraid that if they complain that they will get thrown out or their rent will be increased and they will not be able to find any other place to live. The cost of renting has increased so much that it is next to impossible to find something that a young couple can afford. There just has to be a better way.

Safe and Secure Mailboxes

I bought one of the nicer of the Front Loading, 1-Tenat mailboxes that I was able to find on the Internet a few months back. I found it at approvedclustermailboxes.com and I couldn’t be happier with it. It is made out of heavy gauge aluminum and 300 series stainless steel components so I think it should last a good long while. Mailboxes serve an important function in our lives, so it only makes sense to have a decent one that will last a good long while since it is out in the weather 24/7 and all year long and can age rather quickly if not made with quality materials.

Our old mailbox only lasted a few years and I was not happy with the prospect of having to purchase a new one, but I’m glad that I did. Now I have one of the mailboxes that might end up saving us from having our mail stolen and possibly a case of identity theft, ya never know and you can’t be too careful these days, since school is out and there will be a boat load of kids out there with time on their hands, looking for mischief. Mailboxes seem to be an attraction for vandalism each summer while school is out.

New Mailboxes Around The Neighborhood

It was so cool to see how many people received some of the cutest decorative mailboxes during the Christmas holiday this year. I don’t think I have ever noticed so many new and unique mailboxes being put up at the same time before. While I still have just a plain old mailbox there seems to be a fad going on with custom mailboxes being placed and seen at the end of so many people’s drive ways.

There are John Deere tractor ones, cow hide ones, motorcycle ones, truck house and planter ones and my favorites are the ones that have been painted with a floral scene. Maybe one day I will take a look and see if there is a designer mailbox that floats my boat enough to buy one, but until then my plain old ordinary mailbox will just have to do, unless i get one as a Christmas present like so many folks in this neighborhood seemed to have had happen to them.
