Flexibility – The Key to Great Package Deals

You may have heard that the best way to save money on vacation travel is through package deals but did you know that there are strategies you can use for getting incredibly cheap vacation packages? Travelers who can be flexible are the most likely to get the best deals. Read on to find out how flexibility is your ticket to a vacation of a lifetime.

· Destination – If you can be flexible about where your vacation takes you, you have better odds of finding rock bottom prices on airfare and lodging. The good news is, that while not having a specific destination in mind is helpful, you don’t have to be utterly open to the four corners of the Earth, either. You can narrow down the possibilities to a manageable level by choosing potential destinations either by activity and type such as beaches and surfing, or by general vicinity such as Europe or Asia.

· Dates and timing – Not only is it important to be flexible with arrival and departure dates but also with the time of day of flights. It’s also a good idea to be open about how many days you can travel. Additionally, being able to book either far in advance or at the last minute will give you a leg up on getting deep discounts.

· Airport – For the best prices, generally traveling to and from a major airline hub such as Atlanta, Los Angeles or Dallas is your best bet. However, if you find yourself in the position to fly out of an airport in another country, that can result in big savings as well. Often foreign airports offer inexpensive hops between frequently traveled destinations. Once you arrive, be sure to check in with a local travel agency for information on packages available from your current destination.

Using these tips, a little flexibility will take you a long, long way.

Awareness Training

One thing that I really loved about working for Nationwide Insurance so many years ago was all of the training that they provided us. Most of it took place at the Regional Office which was over fours away, so that meant that we were usually put up in a hotel and were provided with an expense account which was always such a blast for me and the other employees that I drove down with. I just loved the idea of spending a night, some times two, away from home in a nice hotel and being able to eat out instead of having to do the cooking myself. A mini vacation for a working mother such as myself.

These days the Internet has made it possible to keep employees from having to travel so much by bringing a lot of training right to them, saving companies a good amount of money along the way. Now a days there are sites like securityawarenesstraining.com that have everything that you need for employees to learn about all kinds of awareness training. Managers are crooked, video tapes get lost or erased and the many types of abuse just keeps on keeping on, a sad state of affairs.

Breakfast Bar

There are only two places around here to get a nice selection of breakfast foods on a buffet. The place closest to my house is the Shoneys. They have a breakfast bar for about $6 but the selection is very limited. I can eat there once in a while and be happy with it.

The better place to go for a full breakfast buffet is the Golden Corral. They charge $10 but the selection is 5 or 6 times better than what Shoney’s offers. I could eat at Golden Corral every day of the week and have a completely different breakfast plate every day. Not bad for ten bucks, but it’s a 15 minute drive in the wrong direction to get to it.

Not Another Burger Please

I’m starved and haven’t been able to get out to get some lunch yet. I want something fast and filling, for under $5. What can I get for lunch that is not a burger and fries? I am so sick of burgers I really need something else for lunch. Chicken sounds boring. Maybe a gyro?

Bacon, Or The Lack Of It

Bacon is one of my all time favorite foods. So today when I stopped in at our local Burger King I was thrilled to see that they had the BK Bacon Burger back on their menu and on their Dollar Menu I might add. But my excitement soon faded when I got my Bacon Burger when I opened it up only to find one 2 inch piece of bacon on the darn thing. I went back to counter and asked if it was really only supposed to have this tiny piece of bacon on it and the guy behind the counter informed me that yes indeed that is the case.

Sorry Burger King, but that just doesn’t cut the mustard in my book.
